Using adCentre analytics to track SharePoint sites

Many analytics tools cannot be used to track intranets. In order for tracking to work the tracking JS must be reachable though the corporate network and the intranet must be accessed via a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) such as http://intranet.example.com and will not work on a non-FQDN such as http://intranet

As a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, we'd be interested in exploring the usage of adCenter Analytics to measure our MOSS projects and other projects built on the Microsoft platform, but I can't seem to locate a lot of knowledge about the tool and it's capability in tracking intranets.

    Any suggestions? Insights?

    HI Scott,

Unfortunately, adCenter Analytics has the same restrictions due to the requirement of the Javascript to be reachable by the hosting server.  We also have the limitation on FQDN.  I know we have had luck in setting up SharePoint sites, and similar intranet pages internally, but I have dealt with users who were unable to make it work as they could not open up the tunnel through their firewall, for security reasons.  I have also seen that without the FQDN, Analytics will not accept the Domain.

I do not have a timeline on if or when this may change, but I will mention it to my developers again.

     Hi,

the CardioLog solution offers a great solution for this issue.

It's designed  to provide detailed analytic information about SharePoint usage.

A new FREE lite version is about to be released.

    have a look
